See Solar in a different light.
Buying Solar today there are a few different schemes offered by the Federal and State Governments, depending what State you live in.
Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme
Households across Australia that install a small scale renewable energy system (solar, wind or hydro) or eligible hot water system may be able to receive a benefit under the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES) to help with the purchase cost.
Installing an eligible system allows the creation of Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) with a value that can be redeemed by selling or assigning them. The number of STCs created is based on:
- the amount of renewable electricity the system produces or the amount of electricity consumption it reduces
- the climate region where it’s installed
Tasmanian Energy Efficiency Loan Scheme (TEELS)
A joint initiative of the Tasmanian Government and Aurora Energy to assist our Tasmanian community with the purchase of energy efficient products.
Due to its overwhelming popularity, the Tasmanian Energy Efficiency Scheme (TEELS) for households and small businesses has been extended and will now run until 30 April 2019, or until the additional $20 million finance pool is exhausted.
Under the scheme, Westpac is pleased to offer Tasmanian residents and small businesses the opportunity to apply for a Westpac Credit Card with zero interest for 36 months for the eligible energy efficient products up to a value of $10,000.
Electricity feed-in tariff
Feed-in tariffs for renewable energy pay for excess electricity generated by small-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) or wind power systems. The amount paid varies between different retailers and can be compared using the Energy Made Easy website.
