This property was a bit unusual to our normal solar panel installation, as it has two seperate buildings.
The client also wanted to have all of the solar panels installed on the main building and also be able to control the hot water system on the second building. Their goal was to be able to power the hot water system with solar energy during the day or during off-peak periods if needed.
To achieve this, we have installed a Solar Relay by Catch Power in each building, which as a result, allows the solar panels to talk to the hot water system via WIFI.

Did you know this about hot water systems?
You might not be aware of this, but our hot water systems make up quite a large part of our home power usage. Especially if you have a large family.
By controlling the times during which the hot water system is allowed to heat up, we able to reduce the heating costs. This is because we can heat our hot water system during low peak period or by using solar energy from our solar panels.
