SUNGROW TRADE-IN PROGRAM

End-User Introduction and General Disclaimer

📘 Program Overview

The Sungrow Trade-In Program allows eligible Sungrow end-users to upgrade their existing inverter by trading it in through an accredited Solar Company. A trade-in value may be applied as a deduction toward the cost of a new Sungrow System purchase.

Note: The program is coordinated by Sungrow Australia Group Pty Ltd (Sungrow), the authorized importer of Sungrow products in Australia. However, Sungrow does not sell products directly to end-users and is not a party to any commercial contract between the end-user and their

Solar Company/Reseller.

✅ Eligibility Requirements

To participate, the end-user must:

  • Own the inverter being traded in, and ensure the inverter has been installed on-site for over 3 months.
  • The inverter model must be eligible for the program.
    🔎 Check eligibility here: https://service.sungrowpower.com.au/Trade_in_Eligibility_Check
  • Purchase and install a qualified Sungrow Hybrid Inverter plus Battery System from an accredited Solar  Company.
  • Only one inverter is acceptable for trade-in per site, and the new system must be installed at the same location.
  • Authorize the Solar Company to manage the entire trade-in process, including submission of the application and return of the trade-in inverter.
  • Trade in a unit that meets Sungrow’s return condition criteria, such as being operable and having a visible serial number etc. The inverter must be collected by Sungrow (or its authorised logistics partner).

📋 Program Conditions

No Direct Compensation from Sungrow

Sungrow does not provide trade-in value, discounts, or payments directly to the end-user. All pricing, trade-in credits, and upgrades are managed by the solar company.

The trade-in credit is non-refundable, non-transferable, and can only be applied toward the Sungrow product upgrade at the specific site where the trade-in occurs.

Ownership Acknowledgement

By proceeding, the end-users need to confirm that they are the lawful owner of the inverter being traded in.

Trade-In  Application

By participating, the end-users must authorise a Solar  Company to apply and manage the trade-in process on their behalf. In some cases, the solar company may delegate this process to a Reseller.

Solar Company as Main Contact

The authorised solar company will manage all the trade-in participation, including application submission, inverter removal and return, installation of the new unit, and communication with Sungrow.  Sungrow will communicate directly with the solar company regarding application status, required documentation, and product logistics.

Trade-In Approval

Sungrow will review the trade-in application submitted by Solar Company or Reseller on the following:

  • Product Serial number
  • Installation photos
  • Proof of new installation (e.g., invoice, new installation photos, product commissioning)
  • Any other information or documents as required.

Please note: Approval is not automatic and is subject to Sungrow’s final verification and discretion.

No Guarantee of Trade-In Acceptance

Participation in the program does not guarantee approval. Sungrow may reject claims if:

  • Eligibility criteria are not met
  • Required documentation is missing or invalid
  • Inverter is not returned, or condition does not meet return requirements

Warranty & Liability

  • Sungrow does not warrant the workmanship or installation quality.
  • All installation-related responsibilities rest with your solar company,  any issues related to installation, workmanship, or system performance must be resolved directly with the  solar company.

Data Liability

Sungrow is not liable for any data (e.g., production logs, user configurations, network settings) stored on returned inverters. It is the solar installer’s or system owner’s responsibility to erase and/or back up such data prior to return. Sungrow may permanently delete or destroy any residual data upon receipt.

Old Inverter Handling

Once collected, the traded-in inverter becomes the property of Sungrow or its authorised recycling partners and will not be returned. All environmental disposal is handled responsibly through authorised channels.
